Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) is the name of the project given by artist Nyoman Nuarta that was recently completed two years ago but few have divulged into its inner knowledge of meaning and long development background. The development cycle took 28 years to complete and is now regarded as an important landmark for Indonesian heritage. Additionally, it is considered an iconic and complex site whose layers are intricately designed with other famous landmarks such as; The Statue of Liberty in the United States, Statue of Christ in Brazil, etc.
This paper aims to find a link through scientific communication tools that implement Peircean Semiotics to get a deeper understanding on the underlying values that are waiting to be revealed. The topic ranges from sign classification using Peirce mode and aspects, while also taking an introspective look at the use of an uncommon medium to send a unique message. This will reveal the state of the sites development and give deep insight into the inner workings of not just the site but also hidden meanings.
