Abstract

Begitu banyak film yang memiliki unsur Public Relations. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pemahaman beberapa penulis dan peneliti tentang bagaimana spin doctor adalah sama dengan Public Relations. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui representasi praktik spin doctor dalam serial TV Scandal dan untuk memberikan edukasi dan kontribusi dalam penelitian khususnya analisis praktik spin doctor dengan pendekatan semiotika. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce. Analisis dilakukan dengan menjabarkan interpretan, objek (ikon, indeks, simbol) dan representamen. Terdapat 14 adegan yang merepresentasikan praktik spin doctor.
