Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is the 6 highest cause of death which actually could be prevented from the earlier age. Based on pre-research data, teenagers and young adults from 15 until 25 years old in Jakarta have no awareness and lack of knowledge about the cause, the consequent and the prevention steps towards Diabetes Mellitus. In order to deliver the message and create awareness towards Diabetes Mellitus in Jakarta from the earlier age, the Nine Steps Strategy for Public Relations method by Ronald D. Smith was used to plana public relation campaign named “Gerak Lebih”. This campaign has several activities such as interaction and education through social media, roadshow to schools, colleges and offices and last but not least spread message through digital video.
