Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuanuntuk mengetahui peran Public RelationsMetro TV dalam mempertahankan reputasi perusahaan dan mengetahui hambatan yang di hadapi oleh Public Relationsserta upaya dalam mengatasi hambatan tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data primer dilakukan melalui wawancara dengan narasumber internal Metro TV, pakar ahli Public Relations, dan narasumber eksternal Metro TV. Serta proses pengumpulan data sekunder melalui data perusahaan jurnal perusahaan, buku-buku, internet,dan profil perusahaan. Hasil dari penelitian ditemukan bahwa dari empat peran public relationsmenurut Cutlip, Center, dan Broom, Public RelationsMetro TV telah berhasil menjalan tiga peran public relations, maka dari itu masih terdapat kekurangan dalam menjalankan satu peran public relationsyaitu sebagai teknisi komunikasi.
