Abstract

Slack is a chat app that offers numerous features like messaging, file sharing, integration to other video conference, enabling to make poll, and others. The app is making users easy to collaborate with others. Slack also increases engagement of virtual conference. Current video conference
usually is ended when the session is end making people difficult to collaborate but when virtual conference that use video conference utilize Slack to organize the conference the discussion can keep on going before, during, and after the event. This research is done in qualitative way and analyzing the usage of slack to enhance networking experience in virtual conference focusing on social presence theory notions; intimacy, immediacy, and interactivity. The result found that using Slack is able to create engagement in virtual
events and Slack is fulfilling the social presence theory notions.
