Abstract

Dalam komunikasi massa, pesan dapat disampaikan oleh tokoh masyarakat melalui berbagai macam media yaitu salah satunya adalah media sosial instagram. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari dan mengetahui makna dibalik unggahan gambar teks kalimat “IDI Kacung WHO”di akun instagram @jrxsid terhadap kritik sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik semiotika Roland Barthes. Dengan melakukan analisis denotatif, konotatif, dan pembentukan mitos oleh pihakdominan, hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa gambar teks “IDI KacungWHO” memperlihatkan sebuah pesan tentang kritik dari Jerinx terhadap pemerintah Indonesia terkait peraturan penanganan pandemic virus covid 19yang justru dianggap menyulitkan dan merugikan masyarakat.
